Pfeiffer Art Supply is home to our handmade watercolor paints. We love birds and have decided to name each of our colors after a different bird.

These paints are made from pure raw pigment and mulled with a binder ( or adhesive liquid) on a glass slab. Then to finish off the grinding we use a mill for each color to break the pigment down even further to achieve a beautiful buttery texture for each color. Each color has its own recipe and has been meticulously made many, many times.

To prepare our vehicle for each pigment (entire liquid content of paint system), we use natural clove oil and in some pigments vegetable glycerin to enhance the binder and performance of our paint. We do not use fillers, brighteners or dryers in our pigments because we want each color to be as pure as possible. We also use the highest qualities of pigments, binder, honey and natural preservative.

Each pan of color takes about a week from start to finish to complete. We allow the color to dry multiple times to shrink and then refill so that you get the most amount of color for your dollar. Since these are made by hand, no two will look alike or "perfect". It is normal for some cracking to appear.

Each pan comes labeled. Each complete kit comes with a place for mixing your paints and a small water brush. Also each pan is magnetized to the tin so that you can buy individual colors from our shop in the near future

(Note, some colors maybe out of stock. It takes me about a week to make a batch. Please allow time if a certain color is out or choose an alternate color if you want it right away.)
