This color is similar to our Lazuli Bunting Blue. This has more royal blue than Lazuli Bunting.
This was a popular color in Paris in the Victorian era. The original pigment was very toxic, it contained arsenic. This reproduction pigment contains no toxic materials and is safe to use.
This is made from pure raw pigment and mulled with a binder ( or adhesive liquid) on a glass slab. Then to finish off the grinding we use a mill for each color to break the pigment down even further to achieve a beautiful buttery texture for each color. Each color has its own recipe and has been meticulously made many, many times.
To prepare our vehicle for each pigment (entire liquid content of paint system), we use natural clove oil and in some pigments vegetable glycerin to enhance the binder and performance of our paint.
Each pan of color takes several weeks from start to finish to complete. We allow the color to dry multiple times to shrink and then refill so that you get the most amount of color for your dollar. Since these are made by hand, no two will look alike or "perfect". It is normal for some cracking to appear.

Beautiful color by this vendor. Pfeiffer's paints are saturated with vivid colors. Order and shipping processes were on time, packaged very well, and very generous "thank you." I look forward to seeing what other gems she will create in the future.

These paints are a pleasure as always, saturated and quick to rewet, especially with a little spritz beforehand!
