Tiny Kookaburra Watercolor on Vintage French Text - Original Art in Gold Frame

I found this old French book page and couldn't resist adding a sweet little kookaburra right over the text! (Kookabura is painted on a small circle of watercolor paper.) It makes me smile every time I look at it.

This little guy is painted in watercolor and measures just 2.5" x 3.5", but he's got so much personality packed into that tiny space. I love how his bright blue wings pop against the aged paper, and the way the old French words peek through around him creates this lovely storytelling effect.

About the painting:
I used real vintage French text as my background - I have a collection of old books that I rescue from thrift stores and flea markets. This kookaburra has soft blue-gray wings, a white chest, and those warm orange tones that these birds are known for. I painted him sitting in a green circle so he really stands out against the text.
